 Optical Inspection Probes
ODM VIS300 Manual Field Inspection Scope

The VIS 300 advances field connector inspection with its unique focus system. This development virtually eliminates the need to place the user’s hand in the same position each time for effective focus control. To focus simply turn the entire probe ¼ to ½ turns for complete focus range. No longer is it necessary for the user to keep one hand on the focus wheel. The VIS 300 includes a bright 3.5 inch LCD display and precision optics to provide an unmatched FOV (field of view) of 630μm by 440μm.

Extended use Lithium Ion batteries provide 8-10 hours of continuous use. When charging is necessary the included “smart AC charger” charges the battery in 3 hours and allows the unit to continue to operate. The VIS 300 comes with two user-selected adapter tips. Optional tips for most commonly used connectors are available. The VIS 300 monitor is supplied in a padded nylon case. Both the probe and monitor are transported in a hard carry case that also includes the charger, extra tips, and cleaning aids.

ODM VIS300C Automated Field Inspection Scope

The new VIS 300C from ODM provides handheld, all-in-one fiber testing for field and lab applications. This system brings together the most effective methods for verifying fiber connections to yield simple and repeatable test results.

The VIS 300C platform helps streamline fiber testing processes through an easy results-saving and reporting system. The 5-inch touch-based user interface allows users to quickly switch between inspecting fiber endfaces, testing with an optical power meter, and troubleshooting via an onboard VFL.

Test results are compiled in project folders which can be immediately synthesized into closeout reports at the touch of a button. The included Wi-Fi functionality allows users to send reports directly to the customer’s inbox or cloud storage folder for instantaneous deliverables.

This portable test platform allows technicians to bring ODM’s trusted test equipment with them wherever they go. Equally ideal for testing fiber on a cell tower or in a laboratory, the VIS 300C delivers exceptional results every time.

The VIS 300C comes with a high-definition microscope with 4 standard inspection tips, a portable carry-bag, and protective travel case. If an OPM is included with the VIS 300C, the OPM will have a 2.5mm universal patch cord adapter attached. If included, the optional VFL will have a 2.5mm universal interface. Additional adapters are available for the inspection scope, OPM, and VFL.

ODM VIS400 High-Definition Inspection Scope

The VIS 400-HDP inspection scope allows test technicians to inspect and grade fiber endfaces by offering the most detailed image possible. When used in conjunction with ODM’s proprietary InSpec™ software the VIS 400 ensures compliance with the IEC 61300-3-35 standard.

ODM’s software grades fiber ends based on the four critical zones outlined in the industry standard. Tapping or mousing over debris allows technicians to see details on each defect. The VIS 400’s high-definition camera allows the software to distinguish defects as small as one micron, eliminating guesswork when determining endface acceptability.

The VIS 400 provides a high-definition image with a 860μm x 640μm field of view, allowing technicians to see debris outside IEC specified zones. Debris on the periphery of the fiber end should be cleaned to avoid migration during connector mating. This procedure allows technicians to ensure connectors are completely clean for the most reliable optical link.

With ODM’s optional Portable Access Device (PA 255B), technicians can stream live images of fiber ends from the VIS 400 to the InSpec™ app on any Wi-Fi enabled smartphone or tablet. The InSpec™ app allows users to inspect, grade, and archive images on their wireless device.

The VIS 400-HDP kit contains connector cleaning tools for up to 500 cleanings and adapter tips for all the most popular connectors (LC, SC, 1.25mm and 2.5mm Universal), all packaged in a durable carry case.

Anritsu G0306 Video Inspection Probe

The G0306B Video Inspection Probe is an ergonomically designed, compact video inspection probe for verifying the condition and cleanliness of connector end faces during the installation phase. Images are captured digitally and streamed on the display of an Anritsu OTDR or any Windows computer. The connector image and detailed PASS/FAIL status is displayed as defined by IEC 61300-3-35 ensuring quality and consistency from connector to connector, technician to technician.

The G0306B is available for the Anritsu Access Master 9083x2 Series, Network Master micro-OTDR 9090A series and Network Master Pro MT1000 series OTDR as well as direct USB PC interface with free software

The Autofocus Video Inspection Probe G0382A eliminates dirty or damaged optical connectors issues by verifying the condition and cleanliness of connector end faces during the installation phase where they are easily corrected. Complete connector inspection is performed quickly and automatically with the press of a button including: auto-focus, image centering, analysis and image capture. FTTA Smart Probe

The FTTA Smart Probe allows technicians to inspect the fibre endfaces. Images are captured digitally and streamed on the monitor of any Windows Laptop, iOS and Android Tablet or Smartphone. The FTTX Smart Probe is an ergonomically designed, compact, Wi-Fi probe for smart phones and tablets.
